In PHP, there are two primary ways to produce output: echo<\/code> and print<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two statements are frequently used in PHP scripts to display information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarities and Differences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both echo<\/code> and print<\/code> are used to output data to the screen. However, there are subtle differences between them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • echo<\/code> does not return a value, while print<\/code> returns 1, allowing it to be used in expressions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • echo<\/code> can take multiple parameters, though this is rarely used, whereas print<\/code> can only take one argument.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • echo<\/code> is slightly faster than print<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The echo Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The echo<\/code> statement can be used with or without parentheses: echo<\/code> or echo()<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    echo "Hello"; \n\/\/same as: \necho("Hello");<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Using Single Quotes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    Strings can be surrounded by quotes, and there is a difference between using single and double quotes in PHP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    When using double quotes, variables can be embedded within the string directly. With single quotes, variables must be concatenated using the .<\/code> operator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
