Slices<\/strong> in Go are similar to arrays but more dynamic and versatile. While both store multiple values of the same data type in a single variable, slices differ because their lengths can grow or shrink as needed, unlike arrays with fixed lengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating a Slice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are three primary ways to create a slice in Go:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Using the []datatype{values}<\/code> format<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Creating a slice from an array<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Using the make()<\/code> function<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Creating a Slice Using []datatype{values}<\/code><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    To declare a slice with this method:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For instance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The code above creates an empty slice with both a length and capacity of 0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    To initialize a slice during its declaration:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    motorcycleModels := []string{"Ducati", "Yamaha", "Honda"}\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    This example declares a slice with a length and capacity of 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Go<\/strong> provides two essential functions for slice handling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • len()<\/code> returns the number of elements in the slice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      Slices can be derived from arrays by specifying a range of elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The make()<\/code> function is a powerful tool for creating slices with pre-defined lengths and capacities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
