The git push<\/code> command uploads your local repository content to a remote repository. This allows others to see and collaborate on your work. Once connected to a remote repository using the git remote<\/code> command, you can push your changes to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initial Example<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To push changes from your local branch to a remote repository, use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

git push -u <short_name> <your_branch_name><\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n\n

-f, --force<\/code><\/td>Force the push, even if it results in a non-fast-forward update.<\/td><\/tr>

--tags<\/code><\/td>Push all tags to the remote repository.<\/td><\/tr>
--atomic<\/code><\/td>Ensure that the push is atomic, meaning either all refs are updated or none are.<\/td><\/tr>
--dry-run<\/code><\/td>Perform a trial run to show what would be pushed without making any actual changes.<\/td><\/tr>
--receive-pack=<git-receive-pack><\/code><\/td>Specify the git-receive-pack program to use.<\/td><\/tr>

1. Pushing to a Remote Repository<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
To push your local branch feature_branch<\/code> to the remote repository named origin<\/code>, use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
git push -u origin feature_branch<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This command uploads your local changes to the remote repository and sets origin<\/code> as the upstream for feature_branch<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Setting Upstream Branch<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you haven’t set up an upstream branch yet, you can do so with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Pushing Tags<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

5. Forcing a Push<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
