The git add<\/code> command is used to add changes in the working directory to the staging area. This command tells Git that you want to include updates to a particular file or directory in the next commit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<pathspec>...<\/code><\/td>Specify the files to add content from. Use file patterns like *.c<\/code> or directory names to update the index accordingly.<\/td><\/tr>
-n, --dry-run<\/code><\/td>Show which files would be added without actually adding them.<\/td><\/tr>
-v, --verbose<\/code><\/td>Display detailed information about the files being added.<\/td><\/tr>
-f, --force<\/code><\/td>Add files that are otherwise ignored by .gitignore<\/code>.<\/td><\/tr>
--sparse<\/code><\/td>Update index entries outside of the sparse-checkout cone.<\/td><\/tr>
-i, --interactive<\/code><\/td>Add modified contents interactively, allowing you to choose what to add.<\/td><\/tr>
-p, --patch<\/code><\/td>Interactively choose hunks of patch to add to the index.<\/td><\/tr>
-e, --edit<\/code><\/td>Open the diff in an editor to edit and apply changes to the index.<\/td><\/tr>

-A, --all, --no-ignore-removal<\/code><\/td>Update the index to match the working tree, adding, modifying, and removing files.<\/td><\/tr>
--no-all, --ignore-removal<\/code><\/td>Add new files and modified files, but ignore removed files.<\/td><\/tr>
-N, --intent-to-add<\/code><\/td>Record only the fact that the path will be added later, showing unstaged content with git diff<\/code>.<\/td><\/tr>
--refresh<\/code><\/td>Refresh the index without actually adding the files.<\/td><\/tr>
--ignore-errors<\/code><\/td>Continue adding files even if some could not be added due to errors, still exiting with a non-zero status.<\/td><\/tr>
--ignore-missing<\/code><\/td>With --dry-run<\/code>, check if the given files would be ignored, even if they are not present in the working tree.<\/td><\/tr>
--no-warn-embedded-repo<\/code><\/td>Suppress warnings when adding an embedded repository without using git submodule add<\/code>.<\/td><\/tr>
--renormalize<\/code><\/td>Reapply the “clean” process to all tracked files, useful after changing configuration that affects line endings.<\/td><\/tr>
